We were told that when importing an invitation list (excel sheet), we can include different columns like company, departments, and reg type. This article does not really explain this well https://support.cvent.com/s/communityarticle/Using-Invitation-Lists-to-Assign-Registration-Types. For example, we had imported an excel list and added a column which includes the reg type.
Once you set up the individual reg path, there is a question, "who can register for this event" you can select only that "Europe Invitation List". This means that you can send an email only to people on the Europe list, they will receive the personalized email with the link. You can include the reg type question or not.
By the way, you can separately set up the agenda in a way that for example, Employee have agenda session A and B and Marketing has agenda session B and C. The agenda does not connect to the reg. path. but as a available option which can viewed by selected reg. types.
It would that your countries are coming from an Invitation list which is used to send out the reg. link aka a specify reg. path only for Country A. You can decide if the reg type is included in the invitation list or each attendee can select (you can clearly example this in the landing page or add in the email, maybe some people do not know if they employee or marketing (just an assumption!)). Normally the first page is the contact information, name, email, etc. Then the next page you can select the agenda which is selected.

Subject: Streamlining Reg Type vs. Path vs Invitation List
Danica,
I love collaborative brainstorming!! I like where you are headed with this idea. Ok thinking out loud, if i use the country groups as the reg paths, how would i know that even with uploading someone as say the Leadership reg type. if they are based in Europe, how would i ensure that they get to the europe reg path for Leadership?
If i assign each reg path to every reg type (since all countries will be coming for each reg type), how do i ensure the invitees get down the correct path...does that make sense? I think that's where i'm getting lost.

Subject: Streamlining Reg Type vs. Path vs Invitation List
Hi Jessica,
I am beginner with Cvent and our event does not use air travel. However we do have a complex structure- multiple reg types, several paths, using both invitation lists & open links as well as different agenda for selected reg types.
This is not a direct answer but maybe some brainstorming support! What about this?
Set up have 5 Registration Paths: US, Canada, Europe, Sweden, India/China (the naming will not be seen by the invites- this way the Concur ID link is working)
Each path has the option for 5 registration types: Leadership, Marketing, R&D, PMO, Employee. (you can also set the agenda availabilities to these types)
You can also include the registration types of the attendees when you import the invitation lists, if you already knkow. When the invitation email is sent, via a unique path link. the user will automatically go to path. John Doe is from the US, listed on the US invitation lists -> receives the US path.
Best,
Danica

Subject: Streamlining Reg Type vs. Path vs Invitation List
I have an event where there are 5 different groups (Leadership, Marketing, R&D, PMO and Employee). Each group will have their own logo and their own agenda and their own set of arrival/departure dates based on their agenda.
All of this would be fine except we have about 5 different groups of countries that each group will have (the country groups will all be present in each overall group), and where air travel (mostly concur) is concerned, our travel agency has to setup one concur link per country or set of countries. Basically, we are anticipating that attendees in each group will be coming from all 5 country groups. Each country will all answer the same questions according to their overall group, but each country group has to have their own concur ID#s so they'll need their own reg path to make sure everything links up correctly on the backend.
Is there a way to avoid having to create 25 reg types to accommodate each country group having attendees in all 5 groups? Here is how each group plays out
- Group: Leadership
1. US
2. Canada
3. Europe
4. Sweden
5. India/China
Group: Marketing
1. US
2. Canada
3. Europe
4. Sweden
5. India/China
Group: R&D
1. US
2. Canada
3. Europe
4. Sweden
5. India/China
Group: PMO
1. US
2. Canada
3. Europe
4. Sweden
5. India/China
Group: Employee
1. US
2. Canada
3. Europe
4. Sweden
5. India/China
Again, ideally we wouldn't have to create 25 reg types to accommodate each country per group...I know you can't have multiple paths for each reg type. Just wondering if there's an easier way to do it!
We will have invitation lists and invites will be sent that way. Totally open to utilizing internal information or anything else on the backend that would make this easier!
