  • 1.  Titles required during registration, but missing on registration reports

    I recently contacted Cvent support to figure out why titles were missing from a registration report I ran, especially since titles are required on the personal information page during registration. Their response honestly surprised me.

    I had no idea that every time I upload an invitation list, it updates the contact records-including removing titles if they aren't included in the uploaded list.
    Has anyone found a workaround for this? Some of my invitation lists only include first name, last name, company name, and email address, and I don't want to overwrite or delete existing title information. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

    If your upload file only has columns for what you want to import, it shouldn't overwrite anything else in their contact record.  So I would just may sure that you don't include a column for title in your source document.

    Thank you all! We have a tool that manages our email address lists. Based on your feedback, I now understand if the title column exists but a cell is blank, Cvent may overwrite their title currently in their contact record. Going forward, I will avoid uploading titles when I import invitation lists.

    When you are uploading the mapping should allow you to indicate that the Title is not imported. Have you tried this before?

    Hi Kim,

    Does that mean when you import your invitation list and it includes Title in the file, if the cells in the sheet are blank for some folks but filled in for others, the blanks are overwriting current data?

    If so, perhaps one workaround would be to filter the blanks and create 2 separate files to upload.
