Welcome to another edition of the Cvent Community Tip of the Week! In this article, we will explore some creative event decoration ideas to take your next event to the next level. From themed decorations to interactive elements, we have got you covered. Let's dive in!

    Themed Decoration

One of the easiest ways to make your event stand out is by incorporating a theme into your decorations. Consider using themed props, backdrops, lighting, and even costumes to enhance the atmosphere.

    Interactive Elements

Engage your attendees with interactive decoration elements that stimulate their senses and encourage participation. Incorporate interactive photo booths, holograms, projection mapping, or interactive art installations.

    Lighting and Effects

Don't underestimate the power of lighting and special effects in transforming the ambiance of your event. Consider incorporating fog machines, lasers, or even fireworks to add that extra wow factor.

    Unique Centerpieces and Table Decor:

Instead of traditional floral arrangements, think outside the box and use unconventional items like books, vintage cameras, mini sculptures, or even edible centerpieces. Get creative with table linens, napkin folds, and personalized place cards to add that special touch.

    Outdoor and Entrance Decor

Make a statement right from the start by creating eye-catching outdoor and entrance decorations. Use bold signage, large-scale props, or interactive installations to welcome attendees in style.

     Goodie Bags

Small goodie bags wrapped in attractive packing can be used as part of the presentation. Conference swag is often underutilized. It can excite attendees, provide a great branding and sponsorship opportunity, put your organization across in a positive light, and be used as a decorative piece!

    Questions for you:

    • What is your favorite event decoration idea from the list? Why?
    • Have you ever incorporated interactive elements into your own events? How did they enhance the overall experience?

    • What is your favorite event decoration idea from the list? Why? Goodie bags or something that guests can take home to serve as centerpieces.
    • Have you ever incorporated interactive elements into your own events? How did they enhance the overall experience? I have used photo booths and projections mapping at events. Early on, these were really novel and exciting, and are still very cool.

I love themed decorations. I wish I could do more of them for my job.   I get to do them a lot as a Volunteer for my MPI chapter. This year, our Holiday Celebration is based on the Sweet Treats of Candy Land Game.   We even took it to our sponsorship packet.   I will be back later in November with Photos

    • What is your favorite event decoration idea from the list? Why? I always love the idea of holograms and projection mapping. Host enough events and the ballroom look and feel can get real boring, but using projection mapping really allows you to transform a space
    • Have you ever incorporated interactive elements into your own events? How did they enhance the overall experience? We almost always do some type of goodie bag with the outside branded and tissue paper matching our decor. For our gala dinners we tend to do unique centerpiece and table decor (recently at an event in salt lake we brought in mixes of really nice linens and then did lighted torch style and olympic ring style centerpieces). A few years back we did a fireworks show, always a crowd favorite!

    • What is your favorite event decoration idea from the list? Why? Why not use them all?! I love the impact of a statement entrance, and the transitional impact on the guest, changing the lighting and go bos add impact.
    • Have you ever incorporated interactive elements into your own events? How did they enhance the overall experience? On no budget, we transformed a dreary space into a lovely, cozy environment with draped fabric on the ceiling and walls, table lighting, and uplighting. Don't forget to please other senses like aroma to round out the experience.
