  • 1.  Early bird pricing

    Posted 2 days ago

Hi - I just wondered if there was anyway you can limit the number of people who register for an early bird ticket based on number sold as opposed to setting a time frame? For example I want to sell 35 tickets at a certain price only - is using the early bird functionality the best way to do this or is there a better way?

Maybe set this up as an early discount coupon that automatically applies but with a capacity limit of 35.

Thanks for your reply David. I am unsure how to set this up - do you mean discount codes? As these are also time related.

    Hi Fran,

Here are the steps for how to create a discount code that automatically applies to 35 people at a certain price:

    • Open discount setup

      • Go to your event > Registration > Pricing > Discounts.
      • Click Create Discount (or open an existing one to edit).
    • Basic discount details

      • Discount type: Discount Code.
      • Enter a Name and Code (even if it will auto-apply, it still needs a code value).
      • Stackable: choose Yes/No based on whether this should combine with other discounts.
      • Method: choose Subtract an amount or Subtract a percentage and set the value.
    • Limit to 35 people (capacity)

      • In Capacity, enter 35 so the discount can only be used 35 times total.
      • Decide how that 35 is counted:
        • Also count guests towards the discount code's capacity = Yes → each guest using the discount consumes a spot.
        • No, only count primary registrants → only primaries reduce the 35-use capacity; guests can still get the discount (if allowed) but don't count against it.
    • Make it auto-apply

      • Set Automatically apply this discount to Yes so the system applies it whenever a registration meets the criteria (until the 35-use capacity is hit).
    • Control who and what it applies to

      • This discount can be used by: choose Invitees, Guests, or Invitees and Guests as needed.
      • Under Apply this discount to, select the specific admission items / sessions (and optionally filter by registration type) that should receive the discount.
