If you are sending a true test email vs manually sending an event email to yourself and your team members, it is intended behavior for data tags to not populate - https://support.cvent.com/s/communityarticle/Testing-Emails-in-Event
If you and your team are registered for the event, you can manually send these event emails and you should see the data tags populate accordingly, links will work properly, etc. https://support.cvent.com/s/communityarticle/Manually-Sending-Event-Emails

My contact names are not showing up on event emails even with the first name data tag selected. When I sent a test email out to myself and team members, the code is still in the salutation; it's not merging with the attendee list info.
