You can find a reference guide on the community KB Teaching Attendees How to Use Attendee Hub. There are videos as well as documentation for specific steps

But to your point it would be a good idea to create a quick 1 page document that could be shared to all of the attendees.

Hey Janet! 

I know this may not be an option, but we create a walkthrough video of each events app and host it on YouTube or Vimeo and then send it out in the app introduction email. This helps the attendees not only know how to use it, but all the features as well. We start from downloading the app, all the way to signing in and go through the different parts. No audio, just video. It's simple, but it has really helped with our app adoption as we now do everything through the app and no longer do printed programs or materials. 

I don't know how on an android but, I know on an iPhone you can just use the "Screen Recording" feature to do it.
