  • 1.  hide upcoming topics for discussion

    Hi there, I have a bunch of discussion topics that I have scheduled to open at a certain time. However, I do not what attendees to see the list of topics in the community section as upcoming or it will give away the surprise factor. Is there a way to not show the upcoming discussion topics until the discussion actually opens to the attendees?

    Hi Heidi-

    I am not aware of a way to hide discussions. You could wait until you want the discussion to appear and create the discussion at that time or you could change the visibility to the discussions pages to only show up in the app when you want to open the discussion up. I would recommend that you use push notifications to drive engagement since it wouldn't be visibility except for specific times.

    Yes, I would do the following to hide the discussion:

    1. If it's only only discussion thread you want to hide, just schedule the date/time for the future. When someone visits the Discussion page, the message there will say something like "there are no current discussions, check back soon... etc"-  which you can customize in language management to whatever you want.  If you have more than one Discussion and just want to hide the one, the date and time should take care of it. 
    2. If you don't want Discussions page to be seen at all, use Visibility in AH designer to remove it from view. 
    3. if you're using home page cards to link to discussions make sure to schedule the card to appear at the same date/time as the discussion.
