  • 1.  Session Item - Choose "Yes" or "No"

    Posted 21 days ago

How do I set up a session in CVENT where registrants are required to choose "Yes" or "No" next to the session? Right now, I am only aware of the set up where you make the session optional and then the registrant will select the session if they plan to attend. A lot of our registrants are not realizing if they plan to attend the session, they have to physically "select" the session. Since they aren't required to make a selection of "Yes" or "No" it is messing up our registration.

    Hello @Jadyn Pemberton,

You can't change the functionality of the session select button but you can change the wording.

    • Under Marketing > Language Management > search Select or "_sessionsWidget_select__resx" is the correct Text ID.  You can update the text to something like "Planning on Attending?" or "Will Attend?".

Another option to make sure your attendees choose at least one session is by setting a minimum number of sessions they must choose. The attendee won't be able to move to the next screen when they click the Next button and a warning will appear.

    • Admission Items > Admission Name > Advance Settings tab > edit > Rules for Optional Sessions > Number of sessions each invitee can select: 1 minimum.

Last suggesting is customize the Session Instructional Text to help it stand out.

    • Event Designer > click on the Session widget > Customize > Instructional Text - make it bold, bigger, and red if you want.

Hopefully some of these suggestions will help.

    Hi Jadyn,

    Hope you are well!

There isn't a direct way to do this. However, you can use an alternative approach if you want invitees to choose between options like Yes, No, or Maybe.

You can create three optional sessions named "Yes," "No," and "Tentative" (or any options you prefer). Then, create a session group using your question as the group name and add these three sessions to that group.

During registration, this will appear as a question with either a dropdown or radio button format, depending on your display settings, allowing invitees to make a selection. Later, you can run the Sessions report to track each attendee's response.

You can refer to the following articles for detailed steps :

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
