  • 1.  Whova and Cvent QR Codes

    Posted 07-06-2023 16:16

    Hi,

We are using the mobile app Whova. Whova offers lead generation at no additional cost so I would love to have their QR codes printed on our badges. But we us OnArrival. I already know there is an integration between Cvent registration and Whova, but how can I print whova-generated QR codes on the Cevnt name badges? Does anyone have experience using these two platforms successfully?

    Thanks
    Colleen

    Hi Colleen,

I once used a separate badge system in which I had to populate the badges with QR codes from event software (I can't remember if it was Cvent or another solution we had at the time). While this is very manual, and you would definitely want to automate it if you can, I did a sort of mail merge to populate the data fields for the badges with the QR codes. You could also do it one by one if you had to, depending on the number of attendees and your bandwidth.

As an aside, we are often sponsors of events. As a sponsor, I really do not like Whova and cringe every time we sponsor an event that uses it. I definitely understand why you are using it, since Cvent charges extra for lead capture, but in my opinion, it's not very robust and doesn't give you near the options that you have with Cvent Attendee Hub. For example, we are currently in process with one event, and the sponsor banner window is super tiny even on the web version and just looks tacky. There are a lot of great features with Whova, don't get me wrong... but it doesn't compare to the very robust Attendee Hub.

    Hi Colleen,

I'm trying to understand your question,  I'm not sure if you are looking to print your QR code which was generated by Whova on the Cvent name badges.

I guess you may need the First name, Last name & Email address (Identifiers) that needs to flow into Cvent system and a workflow with trigger & action. You can check with Onsite Solutions BadgeKit API / Cvent product team if that is feasible.
